“ALPA Centrums” Ltd. core business is international freight forwarding already for 12 years. Originally, in 1993, under the name “ALPA” Ltd., it started providing services of railway tariff payment for freight transport via Baltic and CIS countries. At the very beginning the company was operated by 4 people. 3 years later, in 1996, as a result of re-structuring, company “ALPA Centrs” Ltd. was established. Another 3 years later one more re-structuring took place and company “ALPA Centrums” Ltd. began its operation in the railway forwarding. The company “ALPA Centrums” is focused to provide high quality service to the clients in the field of freight forwarding on the railways of CIS and Baltic countries.

In 1994 “ALPA Centrums” Ltd. became one of the establishers of the Latvian National Association of Freight Forwarders ( LAFF ), which in it’s turn is a national member of FIATA. Our company maintains high activity in activities of LAFF.

The company “ALPA Centrums” Ltd. has concluded relevant direct contracts and is an official forwarder of JSC “Russian Railways” and JSC “Lithuanian Railways”. It gives an opportunity to offer to our clients competitive freight rates but also gives an opportunity to provide them with the latest up to date information. With the support of our long-term well-trained loyal partners – official railway forwarders of CIS, Baltic and Western European countries – our company gives the opportunity to offer the freight transport through the railways of these countries.

The company “ALPA Centrums” owns a number of private wagons:

tank-wagons for transport of light oil products;
flat bed wagons for timber product transport, which run through Finland, CIS and Baltic countries.

Our company offers cargo reloading and delivery services via Latvian sea - ports – Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja. The concluded contracts with the stevedoring companies gives us the opportunity to carry out multimodal transport of cargoes.

The complex package of services can be supplemented with such additional opportunity as – storage repacking and customs clearance of the goods at the customs’ warehouses in Latvia, as well as with the bonded areas of Pechory and Pskov Customs in Russia.

The leading managers of the company, according to their education and job experience, are highly qualified specialists of railway transport, who regularly attend forwarder’s qualification course with the Railway Institute at Moscow. At the moment 35 employees of “ALPA Centrums” Ltd. are directly engaged in arranging international railway freight forwarding, whereby the total number of employees reaches up to 45 people. Our company has obtained the ISO9001:2008 certificate of International Quality Management Standards.
